Planning & Zoning Boards
Overview
The general function of a Planning Board is to prepare a master plan for the development of the municipality and to investigate, advise and recommend programs for the development of the community and construction of municipal improvements.
Overview
Zoning Board members are elected to decide questions and disputes (called appeals) involving the municipality’s zoning ordinance. Very simply, a zoning ordinance dictates how real estate may be used along with the size, use, location and sometimes appearance, of its structures. The Zoning Board meets as required by application.
