Boil Order Update – January 22, 2016

Boil Order Update – Friday, January 22nd, 2016:

The Town remains under a Boil Order from NH DES until further notice.

The issue has been identified and is being addressed, however DES requires that before a Boil Order can be lifted, 2 tests, at least 24 hours apart, need to be certified by the state lab to be clear of E. Coli. We anticipate that these tests will be completed early next week (the week of the 25th-29th of January) and the Boil Order may be lifted by Wednesday, the 27th. Until then, we appreciate the inconvenience that this Order has for Town residents and wish to express our sincere apologies for this inconvenience and assure water users that the issue is being addressed as quickly as possible.

The Town will notify residents via Code Red and the Honeywell system, as well as posting notices on the Town’s web site and Town Buildings when the Boil Order is lifted.

Until then, continue to refrain from consuming water that is not boiled for at least 2 minutes.

For further information about the Boil Order, please contact EPA’s Safe Drinking Hotline at 1-800-426-4791, or contact the Town Offices at 838-6376.
