PUBLIC HEARING: Applicant Lester Presby Jr., of 81 Gulf Road, Lisbon requests a Special Exception concerning Article V Section 5.07.6. Applicant requests a special Exception to change the use of his former house to a snowmobile clubhouse. The property is also known as R23 Lot 001, containing approximately 12 acres.
Mr. Colby presented information regarding the Snowmobile Club and the Club House. Mr. Presby built a new house approximately 100 feet from the old house. His plans were to tear it down but the club approached him asking if he would like to donate his house to the Lisbon Stump Jumper Snowmobile club for a clubhouse. Mr. Presby was going to tear down the house and said he would be more than happy to donate the house not the property. The deed is to be drawn up the week of October 29.
The only abutter there was J. Ingerson who recused himself on the vote. His only concern was the amount of traffic that would happen and Mr. Colby verified that there would be no real increase of traffic. It would only be used for the monthly meetings in the wintertime and an occasional meeting at other times. Mr. Colby also stated that if the club were to dissolve, the house, would revert back to Mr. Presby or his heirs. Mr. Colby also stated that the clubhouse would still be within the non-current use land.
