Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes

Meeting started at 4:30 PM
Bills, manifests and minutes were read and approved.
SELECTMEN’S MATTERS:
ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT: Barbara Menchin
BM discussed the letter that was written by Mr. Stan Borkowski (Building/Code Inspector) to a local resident regarding trash build-up on his property. BM stated that the letter that was written is to be served on the homeowner in person by the Police Department and that previous certified mail has not received any responses.
TOWN ADMINISTRATOR:
RP presented the Board with the Safety Inspections that were performed last year. RP to summarize the reports.
RP presented the Board with a copy of NH Roads Scholar Directory. In the 2009 directory, Mr. Kevin Clement (Department of Public Works) was cited as being a Road Scholar 1 which means he has achieved this level by participating in at least twenty five contact hours or 5 one-day workshops.
RP spoke to the Board regarding the Tri-Town Bus that is looking to extend into Lisbon, Landaff and Sugar Hill.
RP was informed there are 17 streetlights out in the Town of Lisbon. He will again contact PSNH on getting them fixed.
RP told the Board there will be a Main Street, Inc. Business Breakfast meeting March 17, 2009 at 8:00 AM.
RP spoke to the Board regarding some suggestions Mr. Robert Moore (Lisbon Main Street) had regarding some Main Street projects for the town.
DEPARTMENT HEAD: Tanis “Joe” Tavernier (Lisbon Chief of Police)
JT spoke to the Board regarding the recent request for a snowmobile trail that allows students the use of a short section of road riding to get to and from school. JT discussed the safety issues to where the students wanted to put their trail. JT stated that if the children altered their trail a little it would be allowed only to the end of the 2008/2009 snow season. RP to send a letter to that affect.
JT, while speaking of snowmobile trails, raised some other trail issues on roads such as Pearl Lake, Perch Pond and Breezy Hill. JT to speak with David Graham, President of the Lisbon Stump Jumpers, to see what can be done to keep the sport safe.
JT suggested a pre-town meeting department head meeting. JN suggested they all meet Monday, March 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm.

PN spoke to the Board regarding the upcoming Town Meeting to be on Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
JN moved to adjourn this meeting. RAR 2nd. All members voted in favor.
