Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date: February 4, 2008
Selectmen Present: John Northrop (JN), Jonathan Reid (JR), Ruth Robar (RAR)
Town Administrator: Regan Pride (RP)
Clerk: Barbara Menchin
Chairman Northrop opened the meeting at 4:00 pm.
Bills, manifests and minutes were read and approved.
SELECTMEN’S MATTERS:
The Board received a quote from Ms. Lori Hubbard regarding the cleaning of the town offices including the police and fire departments. JR made a motion to accept her bid, RAR 2nd, so voted all. This change will be effective March 1.
Discussion regarding the Town Web Page. It was suggested the page have links for non-profit organizations. It was agreed to put the Lisbon Stump Jumpers Snowmobile Club onto this link.
CLERK’S MATTERS: Barbara Menchin
BM approached the Board with a suggestion on how she could cut the overtime down on her budget. She suggested her hours be changed to Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 7 pm. She would still be able to take minutes for all her current meetings but overtime would not start until after 7 pm. BM to place an ad in the paper stating that the Selectmen’s office would be closed to the public on Fridays effective the week of March 3, 2008. JR made a motion to accept this suggestion, RAR 2nd, so voted all.
DEPARTMENT HEAD: George Stevens and Greg Hartwell
GS and GH came to the Board with concerns regarding the request from the Town Auditor for an accounting of donated funds to the Fire Department. It was stated that all entities of the town are being requested to be accountable for their donated funds. The Grove Hill Cemetery and the Lisbon Library are among some of those entities. GS stated he would get some figures to the Clerk.
TOWN ADMINISTRATOR’S MATTERS: Regan Pride
RP received a warrant article from Merton Rymph requesting the town to send a message to Concord regarding Tax Reduction.
RP has spoken with Jody Gagnon of the Lisbon Life Squad. It appears that the Life Squad is currently undermanned due to sickness and family problems. She does hope that this situation will correct itself soon.
RP stated the School Budget Hearing will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 7 pm. The Board plans on holding their meeting a little earlier so that they may attend this important meeting.
A bond hearing for the Library will be held at 7:00 pm on February 25, 2008 at the Town Hall.
A motion was made by JR to recess, 2nd by RAR……all in favor
