Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes

Chairman Northrop opened the meeting at 6:45pm.
Approved AP manifest and payroll.
PUBLIC INPUT: - none –
Bi-annual visit by Grafton County Commissioner Ray Burton. Mr. Burton presented the following printed information: a copy of the Grafton County Government annual report for FY 2006; the County Government Information Booklet; prescription drug discount program cards from the National Association of Counties; and Connecticut River Byways brochures. Mr. Burton appraised the board of the general workings of the county commissioners including updates on the county jail expansion, the new drug court, and the new registrar of deeds William Sharp.
Mr. Burton mentioned an email message from Lisbon School student Rollie LaCoste regarding his Project Citizen Activity at school. Rollie is interested in pursuing efforts toward stabilizing the river bank near the soccer field at the North end of Main Street.
SELECTMEN’S MATTERS:
Regarding the demolition of the former Parts Town building, JN expressed concern that any contractor must be fully qualified, insured, and have sufficient resources to complete the job in a reasonable period of time.
Deputy town clerk /tax collector position: Ruth Robar moved that the town not hire a person to fill this and instead allow selectmen Reid to serve as deputy on a voluntary basis. This motion was seconded by JN. All voted in favor. Motion passed.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT REPORT – Kevin Clement
No report.
ADMINISTRATORS REPORTS
Kim Bielecki of LGC will present the details of the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program on 4/10/06.
RP contacted Mount Washington Windows & Doors for quotation on windows in main hall. Also received copy of earlier quote from Whitney’s Inc. JN mentioned that Meyers Builders is interested in quoting also. Recommends that all bids include the half-round windows on upper floor as a separate optional item.
Presby Oil is interested in bidding on oil & furnace service contract for the town this year.
RR moved and JR 2nd to enter non-public session per RSA 91-A: 3, II (c) to discuss personnel matters. All voted in favor.
RESUMED PUBLIC SESSION AT 8:40 pm
RR moved to recess until Tuesday 4/10/07 at 1:00pm to finish reviewing correspondence and review applications to the Buffington Trust.
Meeting recessed at 8:50pm.

Re-arranged furniture in selectmen’s offices.
