Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
February 27, 2006

7 PM Meeting Opened

Selectmen Present: R. Pride and J. Hite

Bills, minutes, and manifest approved for the week.

Public Input  - None

Town Administrator written report was reviewed:

·       March 1st is the last day for property tax abatement requests. Six requests have been received as of today 2/27/06.  Purvis & Associates (Steve Allen) will be reviewing all in early March.

·       At next week’s meeting GS will review the two proposals for property assessing services. The third vendor has been disqualified due to a lack of experience with Briteside software.

·       Bruce Garitta (local area carpenter that JN mentioned last week) came in last week to review bathroom project and the installation of an exhaust fan in the Fire Department. His first priority is the exhaust fan.   He will also contact HP at the Recycling Center to evaluate the roof damage caused by high wind a couple weeks ago and attempt to determine the source of the two roof leaks.

·       Requests for welfare assistance continue to run high (2 or 3 per week).
·       GS reviewed the action plans with the Hersey family and the Neilson family (Pearl Lake Rd. area) regarding the project to resolve the water quality issue at their respective homes.  K. Clement will start the project as soon as the weather permits. He will be using J. C. Plumbing and Heating, Inc. of Franconia to supply the material and to perform all inside plumbing.

·       Property clean up at 144 Atwood Street. Whiting’s Rubbish Removal will remove the full dumpster at the site and leave a much larger dumpster so that the resident can clean up all trash in the yard. GS will make periodic site visits to check on the progress. Much of the trash is frozen to the ground so the project cannot be completed until we get milder weather.

JH moved to adjourn and RP 2nd at 7:15 PM.  So voted all.
