Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
October 25, 2004
7:00 pm Meeting opened.
Selectmen Present: R. Pride, J. Northrop. Absent: J. Hite

Bills and manifest were approved for the week.
Minutes of the October 18 meeting approved.
The Board recognized Kevin Clement for his achievement for completing his level one of the NH Road Scholar program for public works. A letter of recognition will be sent to KC from the Board.
WJ reported the new fire station committee would be meeting on Thursday, October 28 at 6:30 pm at the fire station meeting room. Several new members of the committee are planning to attend. David Provan of Right Road will be facilitating the meeting.
WJ reported on the property tax rate setting meeting with DRA and the use of $25,750.00 from fund balance to reduce the town portion of the rate a small amount and to round the total rate down to $31.00/1000. The rate breaks down as follows: Town: 9.68, Local school: $16.61, State Ed rate: $3.33, County rate: $1.38. The Board approved the rate as submitted. WJ noted the tax bills would be prepared and mailed again by Genforms and should be in the mail on or before 11/1/04.
RP reported on a conversation he had with Jim Ingerson of Pearl Lake Road regarding a stop sign located at the end of Gulf Road supposedly on his property. Mr. Ingerson would like to see the sign moved to the opposite side of the road if possible. WJ will discuss with Kevin Clement and Chief Tavernier, if necessary.
WJ reported the water problems on Pearl Lake Road seem to have been alleviated greatly by the installation of the new fire hydrant located at the end of the line according to Mr. and Mrs. Neilson. Kevin will continue to flush the hydrant as necessary.
