7:30 pm. A public hearing will be held to discuss modifying the provisions of the Town’s elderly property tax exemption income and asset requirements. The Selectmen recommend increasing the maximum income for a single person from $20,000 to $25,000 per year and for a married couple from $25,000 to $30,000 per year and increasing the maximum asset amounts from $40,000 for a single to $45,000, and from $45,000 for a married couple to $50,000.
7:45 pm. A public hearing will be held to discuss modifying the veterans’ property tax credit. The Selectmen recommend increasing the standard $50 per year credit to $200 per year for all qualified veterans.
Both modifications will appear as questions on the March 8th, 2005 Town Meeting Warrant for voter consideration.
